Richard Rose, M.D.
Board Chair, CEO, Chief Medical Officer, and Member of the Executive Committee
Dr. Rose is an experienced health care executive with broad experience in science, medicine and medical product development. He is a graduate of Yale College and the Harvard Medical School, where he was an associate professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospitals. Dr. Rose is an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the UCSD School of Medicine. He served as vice president for drug development at Cytel Corporation. Dr. Rose was a managing director of MPM Capital from 1995 to 1996, and in this capacity he was responsible for biotechnology advisory and investment activities on the West Coast of the U.S. and in Japan. From 1996 to 2000, Dr. Rose was president and CEO of StemCells Inc., a public biotechnology company.
Jerry is a product engineering executive with broad experience in medical device, automotive, and aerospace industries. Trained with years of practice, he can synthesize the essence of design, development and manufacturing resulting in creative products that meet the needs of all stakeholders. Jerry believes innovation in product design, selling, and distribution methods provides the necessary edge for businesses to thrive in today’s economy. He is a former senior executive with Sunrise Medical having served in both the roles of vice president of global research and development and vice president of engineering and product development for the continuing care group. Jerry developed durable medical equipment products, which after 12 years are still the industry benchmark. Prior to Sunrise Medical, he was the director of manufacturing engineering at Tower Automotive, and the department manager of engineering within the aerospace fluids division of Sundstrand Corporation.
Paul L. Edwards
Senior VP of Engineering and Manufacturing
Paul brings more than 25 years of experience in the health care and medical device industry to the company. Prior to joining Sommetrics, he was the vice president of engineering at SeQual Technologies. In that role, he was responsible for developing the engineering team and responsible for research and development, product development, manufacturing, and sustaining. Paul started his career at Puritan Bennett developing mechanical ventilators. He continued in medical product development at Baxter Healthcare and Respironics. Paul joined SeQual in 2000 as a project engineer and was subsequently promoted to engineering fellow, clinical engineering manager, director of engineering and finally to vice president of engineering. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California State University, Chico where he led the ASME student chapter and was a founding member of Tau Beta Pi.
Senior VP of Marketing and Sales
Sarah is a dynamic leader with a proven track record of engineering explosive growth and leading commercialization efforts for global organizations including a multibillion dollar medical device manufacturer, a global virtual reality medical simulation company and pharmaceutical/biotech companies. Before joining Sommetrics, she was the president and CEO of Market Intelligence, where she developed successful business expansion strategies that elevated client sales and company growth. Sarah has also held positions as chief sales and marketing officer for Inline Distributing and vice president of marketing at Immersion Corporation. She led the global strategic marketing initiatives for a division of Cook Medical. Sarah has vast experience in negotiating and establishing key partnerships, advancing market development, and leading product launches spanning multiple product lines. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Corbet “Cory” Lancaster
Senior VP of Finance
Cory is a financial professional with more than 25 years of experience in an array of areas including economic damage analysis, business valuations, financial modeling, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning and analysis, strategic/long-range planning, internal controls/Sarbanes-Oxley implementation and compliance, managerial and financial reporting, and cash/working capital management.
Before joining Sommetrics, Cory was the vice president of finance for a $500 million value-added reseller for data center infrastructure from 2012 through 2016. He has been the vice president of finance, Americas, for ResMed (NYSE: RMD) from 2002 through 2010 and held executive and director level finance positions with venture-backed organizations and senior level finance positions at financial service firms including “Big 4” public accounting (Deloitte). Cory began his career with an economic consulting firm where he performed damage analysis for civil litigation.
Cory holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics from California State University, Fullerton and an MBA from Chapman University. He is a certified public accountant, certified valuation analyst, and has completed executive programs in strategy and organization, corporate strategy, financial management, and mergers and acquisitions from Stanford, University of Chicago, Wharton and UCLA.

George has more than 30 years of experience in health care commerce, including sales, sales management, and marketing. This experience spans across several medical device and pharmaceutical product lines for the hospital critical care, CV surgery, special procedures and CV anesthesia markets. The product lines include physiological pressure measurement, continuous mixed venous oxygen saturation monitoring, electronic infusion devices, anesthetic agents, sedative agents, airway management, sleep apnea and CV surgery devices. He has a thorough understanding of the acute care hospital market, with special knowledge of physician and nursing technology needs.
